An absolutely unexspected Halloween post. Phoenix and I were wasting time cooking 1001 version of pumpkin so we decided to write the recipes for Halloween. 😀
There’s not a lot to write about, except the recipes, so I hope you’ll enjoy pictures! 🙂
- 320 g of flour
- 1 tea spoon of baking powder
- 1 tea spoon of baking soda
- 1 tea spoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 tea spoon of ground/grated nutmeg
- a pinch of salt
- 300 g of sugar
- 115 g of butter
- 1 egg
- 225 g of pumpkin
- 1 tea spoon of vanilla (optional)
Cut the pumpkin into cubes and bake it shortly in aluminum foil in the oven (so it softens). Meanwhile mix all the dry ingredients together. Melt the butter. When the pumpkin is done, mix it with the wet ingredients (egg, butter, pumpkin). Then combine dry and wet mixtures together. Knead the dough. Put the baking paper on the baking tray. Make little balls out of the dough and put them on the tray. Make sure there is enough space between each because they will spread while being baked. Bake at 190 C degrees for 15 minutes. You can garnish them with some sort of sugary-chocolate frosting. 🙂
- 500 g of pumpkin
- small onion
- salt, pepper
- 2 tea spoons of nutmeg
- 2 tea spoon of ginger powder
- cooking cream
- 1oo ml of milk
- caraway seeds
- olive oil
Fry the onion and pumpkin chopped into little cubes. Cover with water (so that pumpkin is completely submerged). Cook until the pumpkin softens, spice it up and blend it with a hand blender. Add the cooking cream, milk and cook for another 30 minutes. Add caraway and other spices (if you want to). Slice the bread into little cubes and fry on olive oil. Serve with bread cubes, olive/pumpkin oil and some seeds. 🙂
Recipe for the Halloween potion is on this link: http://spicepicableme.blogspot.com/2014/10/per-aspera-ad-illicium-verum.html
We simply decorated it with some whipped cream and star anise.:)
We had fun….
Phoneix did this Jack O’Lantern 😀
